The AgroEcoHealth platform is a training and knowledge exchange for research that welcomes students, scientists, and extension agents from the West and Central African regions. Our aim is to develop and disseminate best-bet technologies for reducing risks to human health associated with poor agricultural practices. These risks result from poor irrigation systems and related water- and vector-borne diseases, misuse and overuse of agro-chemicals and related environmental pollution, damage to occupational health and the effect on non-target organisms such as insecticide resistance selection in mosquitoes breeding in and around agricultural farms. We are also researching on insects for food and feed. The platform has facilities for basic and advanced molecular work as well as a quality control laboratory for microbiological and physico-chemical analysis on heavy metals and pesticide residues in a range of different samples.
